FREE CONCERT Columbia Orchestra performs a free concert for Peace, Williams Tribute. Masterworks Mark Sweet 16 Season Finale of St. Louis Concert Series in Clarksville June 12. In partnership with the returning Columbia Orchestra, the combined choirs of St. Louis and St. Francis pastorate - complemented by guest soloists and musicians -- will hold a free "Concert for Peace" 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at St. Louis Church, Clarksville. The singers and Orchestra, under the baton of Columbia Orchestra's Maestro Jason Love, will feature selections from Holst's "The Planets" and a tribute to Ralph Vaughan Williams on the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth, with his "Five Mystical Songs" and "Dona Nobis Pacem" - symbolizing efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine and around the world. EBENEZER UMC VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL for children in preschool through middle school June 20-24, at the church, 4901 Woodbine Road, Winfield. Activities are from 6pm-8:15pm each day. Dinner will be provided at 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. This year's theme will be "Food Truck Party, On a Roll With God." Activities will include Bible stories, art projects, singing new songs, games and snacks. The VBS is free and open to the community. Donations for dinner are welcome, but not required. Photographers, novice or professional, can enter for the chance to win cash, park passes, and other great prizes. Winning entries will be posted online, featured in the quarterly Maryland Natural Resource magazine, and placed in the next DNR wall calendar. The contest closes on August 1.

CHURCH TO HOLD FOOD PANTRY Ebenezer United Methodist Church will hold the "Rock of Help" Food Pantry for anyone in the community in need of food from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the third Saturday of each month at the food pantry building, behind the church, 4901 Woodbine Road, Winfield. Non-perishable foods, assorted frozen foods, a non-food household item and children's shoes are available. Due to COVID restrictions, the food pantry currently is strictly drive-through only. Church staff will put pre-loaded bags of food in your car. The food pantry will be held Saturday June 18, July 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov.19 and Dec. 17, 2022. The church is one-half mile south of Liberty Road on Woodbine Road. PRAYER SHAWL GROUP A Prayer Shawl Group that meets every Tuesday from 1-3pm in the Parish Center. We knit and crochet shawls and give them to the Dove House and Little Sister's of the Poor or those who are sick and have lost a loved one.
