COLUMBIA PRO CANTARE PRESENTS HANDEL'S MESSIAH December 8, 2024, 7:30pm, at the Jim Rouse Theatre in Columbia. Joining the chorus and Festival Orchestra under the direction of Laura Lee Fischer will be renowned guest soloists soprano Amy Van Voekel, mezzo MaryAnn McCormick, tenor Daniel Reid, baritone Kenneth Overton, and Henry Lowe on positive organ. There will be a pre-concert talk at 6:30 and a post-concert reception. Tickets are now available: $25, $20 (Students and Senior Citizens); $2 more at the door. Children 15 and under: $10. CARROLL COUNTY FARMER'S MARKET & CRAFT SHOW Last Day! Dec 14th, 8am-2pm. This is your last chance to pick up all homemade baked goods, gourmet food items, seasonal decorations and plants, fresh wreaths, poinsettias and all handmade crafts and fine arts. We will be featuring beautiful live green arrangements from the Littlestown Garden Club. The selection of items for gift giving is incredible. CHURCH TO HOLD FOOD PANTRY Ebenezer United Methodist Church will hold the "Rock of Help" Food Pantry for anyone in the community in need of food from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the third Saturday of each month at the food pantry building, behind the church, 4901 Woodbine Road, near Winfield. Non-perishable foods, assorted frozen foods, a non-food household item and children's shoes are available. The food pantry currently is drive-through only. Church staff will put pre-loaded bags of food in your car. The food pantry will be held Saturday Dec. 21, 2024. The church is one-half mile south of Liberty Road on Woodbine Road. EBENEZER UMC CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS Advent worship begins Sunday, Dec 1, at the 8:30am and 11am services the sanctuary. On Dec 8 (no Sunday school) and Dec 15 there will be only one worship at 11am in the Fellowship Hall. The Chancel Choir will present a Christmas cantata at 11am Dec 15. Worship will be held at 8:30am Sunday, Dec 22, in the sanctuary, followed by Sunday school and the Children's Christmas Service during the 11am worship service in the Fellowship Hall. Christmas Eve services Tuesday, Dec 24, will feature a traditional family worship with the Chancel choir at 8 p.m., followed by a candlelight worship, with special music, at 10pm, both in the sanctuary. BALTIMORE LIGHTED BOAT PARADE Dec 7, Every year people line the Fell's Point waterfront to catch a glimpse of the festive and colorful lighted boat parade. The boats originate from the Anchorage Marina in Canton and slowly make their way along the waterfront towards the Inner Harbor. This favorite Baltimore Christmas tradition usually passes by Fell's Point around 6 p.m., right after we light the neighborhood tree and is a great way to settle in after a day of walking around enjoying the festivities. This family-friendly event is not to be missed and features different kinds of boats decorated in many themes.
EASTPORT YACHT CLUB'S LIGHTS PARADE Dec 14, 6-8pm, every year on the second Saturday in December, magic happens on the water of the Annapolis Harbor-boats suddenly appear out of the cold winter night illuminated with thousands of colored lights and crewed by jolly revelers! HOLIDAY FESTIVAL OF TRAINS Nov 22-27, Dec 2-6, 9-13, 16-20, 23 & 26-31, 10am-4pm at the B&O Museum, B&O, 901 West Pratt St, Baltimore, MD. What better way for the B&O to celebrate the holidays than with trains! On select days November through December, come to the Museum from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to see festive model train layouts, enjoy the holiday decor, get photos with Santa, take a ride on the Reindeer Railway, and so much more! The Museum will open at 11am Nov 23-24. It will close at 3pm on Dec. 6, 12-13, & 18-20. Please note: The Museum will be closed Thursday, November 28 for Thanksgiving, December 24 & 25 for Christmas Eve & Day, and January 1 for New Year's Day.
