MARYLAND LAUNCHES WELLNESS CALLS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS Maryland is the first state with a program that offers daily wellness checks by phone for older residents. Since most people say they want to "age in place" in their own homes, Senior Call Check provides a phone call to Marylanders age 65 and older each day at a designated time. If seniors don't answer the phone after three attempts, a designated contact person or local law enforcement will go to the home. Click here to read more about this program. KINETICS DANCE THEATRE IS OPENING ITS DIGITAL DOORS with Kinetics-Connected, a new schedule of live, interactive, weekly classes presented via zoom. Programming through Kinetics-Connected is designed with the goals to provide students of all ages and levels the opportunity to learn and progress, a sense of normalcy and routine, a meaningful chance to connect with classmates and teachers, and a temporary bridge until the time that dancing together in the studio becomes possible. Class designs reflect thoughtfully re-imagined formats and material designed for small, in-home spaces. Classes are open to all and thanks to their on-line nature, can be accessed from anywhere. Classes span age and level groups with creative beginnings, modern, ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theatre, yoga, pilates, and conditioning as well as offerings for adults and seniors, all taught by Kinetics faculty in real-time. In addition to live classes and in the spirit of keeping the community moving, learning, and connected, the Kinetics-Connected site also features a free instructional video library created by faculty as well as other on-line dance resources. GOLF TOURNAMENT RESCHEDULED Volunteers from six Carroll County Lions Clubs - Deer Park, Freedom District, Greater Carroll, Roaring Run, South Carroll and Taylorsville-Winfield - will be hosting the 19th Annual Lions Club Golf Tournament in honor of Past International Director Richard Liebno, on the rescheduled date of Friday, August 28th, 2020 at the Oakmont Green Golf Course, 2290 Golfview Lane, Hampstead, MD 21074. 100% of the money raised through sponsorships will be donated to the American Diabetes Association(r), utilized for diabetes research; the Lions Vision Research Foundation, Inc., utilized to support low vision research and rehabilitation; and the Lions District 22W Hearing Preservation, Awareness, and Action Program, utilized to provide assistance to those with hearing loss. CHURCH TO HOLD FOOD PANTRY Ebenezer United Methodist Church will hold the "Rock of Help" Food Pantry for anyone in the community in need of food from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month at the new food pantry building, behind the church and its new addition, 4901 Woodbine Road, near Winfield. Non-perishable foods, assorted frozen foods, plus a non-food household item, and children's shoes, are available. Those coming to the food pantry are asked to fill out a short information sheet, then the church gives them a list of available foods. The food pantry will be held June 20, July 18, Aug. 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21 and Dec. 19, 2020. The church is one-half mile south of Liberty Road on Woodbine Road. FREESTATE BEER, WINE & SEAFOOD FESTIVAL June 27, 11am-6pm. Join us for the 3rd annual FreeState Beer, Wine and Seafood Festival! The FreeState Festival brings together the Area's Best Seafood, multiple Maryland Craft Brewers, Delicious Linganore Wines, Awesome Live Music and an array of state-themed vendors. The price of admission includes a FreeState Festival souvenir glass for tastings of beer from multiple breweries, and a variety of wines from Linganore Winecellars. V.I.P. tickets are also available and include additional specialty beer and wine, a larger souvenir glass, and private restrooms. Not a fan of seafood?... we've got you covered. MARYLAND PRIMARY ELECTION DATE MOVED In response to COVID-19, the Maryland Primary Election has been moved to June 2, 2020, 7am-8pm. Early Voting for the Primary Election - Thursday, May 21, 2020 through Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 10 am until 8 pm.

MARYLAND PARK SERVICE UPDATES We greatly appreciate your support and trust. In accordance with federal guidelines and state directives pertaining to COVID-19, we want to share important information about Maryland State Parks. Please support our efforts so we can keep State Parks safe and open. Our highest priority is the well-being of our visitors and staff. During this time, we remain diligent in taking steps to make your visit as safe and enjoyable as possible. Here's what we are doing: We are canceling and refunding reservations made for dates prior to May 29, 2020. We are not accepting any new reservations for dates prior to May 29th. If you currently have a campsite, shelter or cabin reservation prior to May 29th, we will be contacting you to cancel your reservation and provide a full refund. We are implementing additional cleaning procedures, according to federal guidelines, such as more stringent and frequent cleaning of restrooms. We are postponing and canceling programs and events to help keep visitors safe. We have temporarily closed to the public all areas where people may congregate, including all visitor centers, all beaches, busy trails, all administrative buildings, all concessions, some viewing areas, most fishing piers, all shelters,all playgrounds, as well as all nature/interpretive centers we manage. Many parks are utilizing portable toilets at this time rather than opening park restrooms. We are monitoring the situation. As conditions change, so may our policies on park visitation and overnight stays. We will keep you informed of any changes moving forward.

ACCORDION/CONCERTINA/FREE REED MUSICIANS The Maryland Accordion Club meets 2-5pm, on the first Saturday of each month, May thru June, in Catonsville United Methodist Church, 6 Melvin Ave., Catonsville, MD. Our current members reside in Anne Arundel Baltimore, Carroll, Calvert, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, and Prince George's Counties, DC, DE, and VA. In 2020, the club begins its 18th year as a MD 501-C3 Non-Profit Organization. Each meeting includes an "open stage" session where accordionists, concertina, harmonium, and players of other free reed, acoustic, and folk instruments perform at every proficiency level in styles ranging from classical to jazz across world-wide traditions.
