BUGS, BUGS, AND BUGS! Aug. 4, Soldiers Delight Visitor Center 1:30-3 p.m. (Shine only). Join us for an action-packed hour of bug collecting and identification. THE HOWARD COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY Maryland History Tours, LLC, will now sponsor the Ghost Tours of Ellicott City and "The Spirits" Pub Crawl Tour began April 1, 2017. Tour guides will be provided by the Maryland History Tours, LLC. The tours and crawls will join the HCHS's Historic Walking Tour of Ellicott City as a part of three available tours for the 2017 season. They will run into the Fall, weather permitting. Historic Walking Tours: every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (April through October or by appointment). The tour is offered Fridays and Saturdays beginning at 8:30 p.m. (April-November). Reservations are highly recommended. Space is limited. CHURCH TO HOLD FOOD PANTRY Ebenezer United Methodist Church will hold the "Rock of Help" Food Pantry for anyone in the community in need of food from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month at the church, 4901 Woodbine Road, near Winfield. Non-perishable foods, assorted frozen foods, plus a non-food household item, and children's shoes, are available. Those coming to the food pantry are asked to fill out a short information sheet, then the church gives them a list of available foods to check off what they need. CARROLL COUNTY ALATEEN MEETING Every Tuesday at 8 pm, St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church, 700 Kreider's Cemetery RD, Westminster, MD 21158. In Alateen meetings, young people share their own experiences-everyone in the meeting has been affected by someone else's drinking. Some currently live with a problem drinker, others do not. Alateens share their feelings, encourage each other, and share how the Alateen program has helped them.

LOOKING FOR AN AMERICORPS MEMBER Hospice Caring is looking for an AmeriCorps Member (often known as the domestic Peace Corps) to serve at our site and support those facing serious, life-limiting illnesses and those who are grieving. This 11-month, full-time position begins in September, 2017, and is located in Gaithersburg, MD. The position offers a living stipend, education award, health insurance, a robust professional network, and the experience of a lifetime! Hospice Caring's AmeriCorps Member will directly recruit volunteers who will provide weekly visits to seniors with serious illness and those who are grieving the death of a loved one. In addition, they will interview volunteer applicants, coordinate training sessions, and organize volunteer recognition and continuing education activities.
